Here at Katimavik our plan is to post one photo a day for a full year to give you a visual understanding of the reality of the Katimavik program in our part of the country. We have over 100 projects in Canada and each one of them has a unique context and quality that we want to capture in these photographs. Please join us on this photo journey and we hope it paints a picture of the amazing experience that this program provides for Canadian youth.

Katimavik Rocks!

Kim Wempe outlines her motivation as a performer at Katimavik Rocks! by stating that "this is a cause that should sit close to people’s hearts because of the basic fact that there isn't anyone who can say they don't know someone who has or has had cancer. Every day, more and more, you hear about someone else you know battling cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society needs help so we can all fight this. Katimavik is an amazing organization that is taking it into their own hands to support the cause and I'm excited they've asked me to be part of it. We're going to have a lot of fun!"

-----

Exploring your surroundings while in Katimavik is important. Many volunteers bring a camera with them to capture as much of the community and experience as they can. Conversely, the community tries to capture as much of the experience and volunteer contributions from the Katimavik volunteers. Both volunteers and community partners can feel the lasting impact of the Katimavik experience.
