Kim Wempe outlines her motivation as a performer at Katimavik Rocks! by stating that "this is a cause that should sit close to people’s hearts because of the basic fact that there isn't anyone who can say they don't know someone who has or has had cancer. Every day, more and more, you hear about someone else you know battling cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society needs help so we can all fight this. Katimavik is an amazing organization that is taking it into their own hands to support the cause and I'm excited they've asked me to be part of it. We're going to have a lot of fun!"

Tous les jours et de plus en plus, nous entendons parler de gens qui luttent contre le cancer. La société canadienne du cancer a grand besoin de notre aide pour soutenir ce combat. Katimavik est un organisme formidable qui a pris l’initiative de venir en aide et je suis ravie d’avoir été invitée à participer. Ça promet d’être tout un spectacle! »
